New Products from Works of Love headquarters / zine tour

I find it exhausting to keep each of my various internet “portals” and social media “channels” updated, so I’ll keep this short. I’m pleased to announce the release of two more zine/zine-like products to my loyal readers and customers. First, the third edition of the popular TV GRIME, the Pilot Pack: Five ALL NEW 8-page mini-zines housed in a classic waxpack wrapper with bonus sticker and gum!

I am honored to include in this package an original comic by Nate “Grixly” McDonough, one of my very favorite cartoonists (as discussed in a below post).

Next, a rare artifact and endlessly fascinating curiosity I’ve chosen to so generously share with you, the consumer: The Riverside Challenger: Selections, 1992- 1994. Just what is this mystifying pamphlet? Well, I recently came into the possession of a complete two-year run of The Riverside Challenger, an elementary school newspaper written and produced by first and second graders from 1992 to 1994. (Some of the issues were printed in purple mimeograph ink!) This zine comprises a hefty selection of the best bits, presented without comment and in chronological order.

As I assembled this, I expected it to be a little goof but was surprised and touched by the unexpected pathos of it. It really captures the way as a kid every little event is new and totally unprecedented.

Where can you purchase these fine products? Why, at the usual place, my friend!

Meanwhile, if you are one of my “literary” readers eager for a follow-up to my hit debut novel (an NPR “Best Book of 2020”), maybe you should try securing me a huge advance from a major publisher so I have motivation to not get distracted by the glamorous and lucrative world of self-printed zines.

Speaking of, I’ll be heading out on tour later this year at the above zine fests. These events will mark my first public appearances since my 2020 book tour, which you may recall was glorious and disastrous in equal measure. See you there!
